Measuring Guide

1. Step by Step instruction to learn how to measure your windows

To measure your window sizes correctly, we have designed an easy step by step guide. View our measuring guide here – how_to_measure.pdf

Measuring Made Simple

  • Always use a metal tape measure
  • Always measure in millimetres
  • Measure width x drop (do not reverse this)
  • Measure each window as variations may occur
  • Measure each window at three separate points – top, middle and bottom
  • Double check all measurements are correct

Step By Step Measuring Guide:

a) Download our printable “Measuring Worksheet” which will assist with the ordering of your blind, by clicking on this link – measuring_work_sheet.pdf

b) How to Measure an Inside Mount
The term “Inside Mount” refers to the measurements inside the window frame. The measurements are required to be exact, as any slight mistakes in measuring will result in the blind not correctly fitting within the window frame.

  • To measure the width correctly, measure at three points: the top, the middle and the bottom.
  • Using your tape measure, measure inside the window frame, as shown below when measuring an Inside Mount.
  • If there are slight variations in measurements between each of these three points, then always use the smallest width.
  • To measure the drop correctly, do the same using your tape measure –measure from the inside of the window frame down to where you would like your blinds to finish.

c) How to Measure an Outside Mount
The term “Outside Mount” refers to the measurements on the outer part of the window frame.

  • To measure the width correctly, measure at three points: the top, the middle and the bottom.
  • Using your tape measure, measure the width from the outer part of the architrave to the opposite edge, as shown below.
  • If there are slight variations in measurements between each of these three points, then always use the largest width.
  • To measure the drop correctly, do the same using your tape measure – measure from the top of the architrave to where you would like your blind to finish.

2. Step By Step Instruction to learn how to Install Blinds:

Checklist:

    Item Specifics:

    • One bracket is the Chain side bracket and the other is the Pin End bracket
    • The Chain side bracket is affixed to the side which has the operating chain
  • There is a child safety clasp provided per blind:
    • By law, each blind purchased must have a child safety device affixed to the window, ensuring the cord is neatly and securely fastened. For more information on our child safety clasps and how to install please view our Child Safety information page here.

  1. To install your blinds using the “Outside Mount” technique, drill in the supplied brackets on the outer edges of your window frame.
  2. Drill your chain side bracket on the side where you would like your chain to hang.
